He is the pastor of the Gravel Run Baptist Church in Dinwiddie, Virginia, where he has served for over twenty-five years. Dr. Brown is a former Adjunct Professor at Bryant and Stratton College where he taught Ethics. He is a Bail Bondsman for the state of Virginia as well as a former radio announcer. Dr. Brown has a B.S. degree from Virginia State University, a Master of Divinity Degree from Richmond Virginia Seminary and an earned Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio where he specializes in the education of African American youth. Dr. Brown has studied the art of karate for over twenty-five years and holds a Black Belt in karate and a Black Belt in Weapons. Dr. Brown is married to the former Cynthia Lynch and he has three children: Kelly, Chalitta, and Larry Jr. He has one grand-daughter, Naisia.
