Author Information

Steven Tull is a retired president of a large union construction company with over 40 years of experience interacting with many union leaders. He resides in Florida with his wife and continues to provide consulting advice. Tull has a master's degree in engineering, an MBA and a doctorate in business administration majoring in labor relations. Throughout his business career, he applied his knowledge in human relations and motivation management to his close knit executive and administrative staff as well as his mechanics in the field. The purpose of writing this book was to express his displeasure with the present union path and to offer his suggestions as to how to revitalize union growth. When Steven started his career, the unions were in full control and he has watched them, throughout the years, slowly but steadily lose their powerful and respected position. The book may, in some portions, give the impression that the author is negative to unionism but that is far from the truth. Tull's business success is attributable, to a large degree, to his company's signatory attachment with the union. He is reaching out to the union leadership to make the necessary changes now to reverse their loss of membership. Tull is firmly convinced that the unions will come back stronger but not in their present mode.
