Overview

A Lay Cistercian reflects on the Resurrection of Christ and what that means for living Forever. If there is one theme that percolates slowly through the Gospels and writings of St. Paul it is that of the Resurrection. In my way of thinking, the resurrection event compliments and fulfills the Book of Genesis speaking of Adam and Eve having to die. No one wants to die. We all want to live Forever. The themes of comparative religions all share the notion of hoping that there is an afterlife.Saint Paul in I Corinthians 15 speaks of the Resurrection of Christ. What may seem like a historical event of magic, the coming back to life of any human has profound implications that affect all humanity. First, it is impossible with the technology we now have. That Christ did it for Lazarus, then Himself is a sign of contradiction. Who has the power over life but God? It doesn't make sense to the World. Historically, it is difficult to defend. When speaking of the archetypal, our desire to live forever, there are five interactive elements that help us fulfill our destiny, ones that Adam and Eve failed to achieve, ones that Christ fulfilled for us by His Resurrection from the Dead. His death gave us life...Forever.-Our Need to Live Forever-Our Need to Act Our Nature-Our Need for Adoption as Sons and Daughters-Our Need to Love as Christ Loved us-Our Need to Make All Things New This book is an Internet retreat in journal format for your reflections on my reflections about the Resurrection of Christ from the dead. www.thecenterforcontemplativepractice.org
