The Rest of Life: Biblical Perspectives on Retirement

Overview

Retirement is neither work nor holiday; this book considers retirement as Rest, which is a very significant Biblical idea, explored here as a key navigation tool to find our way through this stage of life. The book addresses the important question of Identity, essentially a gift in Christ and not our achievement. This is not a book with all the answers to a good retirement, but it is an invitation to think using Biblical insights and perspectives. The author draws particularly on Biblical Wisdom, and finally, we find some wisdom for retirement in the company of an 18th century poet and hymn-writer, which still resonates today.
