Have you ever just wanted to show the world that you mattered? Growing up in Albany, NY, Pat Shea faced many of the same challenges that befall so many adolescents: being the smallest kid in school, constantly getting picked on, being overlooked and taken for granted. A natural late bloomer, Pat quickly learned that he was fueled by other people's doubt or negativity, including his own, which created a competitive edge that he has carried with him his whole life. Pat discovered running at a young age and learned to use this as his primary source of competitive fuel as well as a coping mechanism for life. But as he got older, Pat found that adulthood brought far more adversity, heartbreak, and countless roadblocks to success. Additionally, his shy and introverted nature made finding true love difficult. Seeking deeper meaning and sense of purpose, Pat wanted to do something that would leave his mark on this world. One day, an epiphany inspired him to combine his two primary passions, running and international travel into one incredible life goal. But Pat would soon learn that the road to one's destiny is hardly ever paved.
