The Reputation of Booya Carthy

Overview

When the Carthy family are forced to flee from their comfortable lives, leaving everything they own behind, they have no choice but to start again. Finally settling in Honahee, a troubled Mississippi town, Calvin ""Booya"" Carthy immerses himself into the local music scene. He quickly becomes popular, his fame soon spreading beyond the county border. But violence is rife, and musicians are being targeted. As an even greater threat descends upon Honahee, and danger follows Calvin ever closer to those he loves most, he must decide how much he is prepared to sacrifice. But first he has to survive . . . The Reputation of Booya Carthy is an epic story, where beauty lives alongside horror, set against the backdrop of one of the darkest periods in American history. This special 10th anniversary edition includes access to an exclusive short story.
