Overview

Nicole lives in Millaa Millaa, in tropical Queensland, Australia. Her pen pal, Jack, lives in the United Kingdom and is very interested in the tropical rain forest that surround Millaa Millaa. Through their letters we learn about the struggle between environmental groups who want to preserve the rain forest and the forest industries that provide employment by cutting down the trees. A respected children's book author in Korea, Cecil Kim's background is in children's psychology and education. She also teaches a course at the CBS Social Welfare Education School. Elsa Huet took courses at the École des Beaux-Arts de Marseille. Since 2001, she has worked as an illustrator and for several independent publishers.
