McCoy, the voice of the Suns for almost 40 years, is a very popular personality in the Phoenix area. Prior to joining the Suns in 1972, McCoy was the broadcaster for the Triple-A Phoenix Giants baseball club. He was the weekend television play-by-play man for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 1998, the club's first season. He was inducted into the National Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007.

This book collects stories told by McCoy himself, and about McCoy by an all-star cast, including players, fellow broadcasters, and fans.
