But I also read them to see if they are age appropriate--such as having words and concepts that are understandable, if the story is relatable and multicultural, and if the illustrations are attractive to young children and bring the story to life. I found ""Mrs. Purple's Classroom: The Rainbow Adventure"" to be a terrific book for preschool and beginning school-age children. It is a fun book for children, and it teaches them about colors. But beyond that, the teacher in the story, the classroom, and the classroom activities look enjoyable and inviting-which can assist preschool kids in terms of having more self-confidence about school, and a sense of security about what happens in a classroom.
