OverviewIn this book, we answer the question: What is the purpose of life? The discussion is based purely on reason and evidence. Most of us have our own viewpoints on what we should do with our lives. However, is it just an opinion or is our viewpoint based on an objective definition? Is our viewpoint borrowed from society or is it based on reason and evidence? We are on this planet earth for a very short time in the cosmic scheme of things. Being born as human beings, we are very lucky - but what should we do with the lives that have been given to us? We can strive for one goal or other, but is that all? Isn't it a good idea to find out our purpose in life during the short journey on this planet? You may not have asked this question if you are young, but most of us ask it once we reach midlife crisis. In this book, we attempt to find the purpose of life, first by defining the question. Then we discuss who we are, using reason. We consider the scientific viewpoint and philosophical (idealistic) viewpoint and come up with a model. Based on our model of who we are, we define perception. From there, we make a conclusion about the purpose of human life. Later on, we discuss the surrendering of life and its relationship to desire. We discuss the lives of Jesus and Buddha. In the appendix we discuss whether the brain creates a perception of mind or whether the mind creates a perception of the brain. We also discuss the issue of free will. Lastly, we discuss how we learn by precisely defining words in the context.
