Michael D. Smith, III is a new upcoming author. Michael began writing in the seventh grade, always having a knack for stories. But it wasn't until his freshman year of high school he finished his first book, and not until the ending of his sophomore year did he realize he wanted to be a writer. Since then Michael has written many novels coming to a total of sixteen-a series of seven, two trilogies, and the first of his latest series which you just read. He hopes to get them all published one day, but for now he's ecstatically content with The Purger being the start. Michael brings the Christian values of the Bible to life with the combination of young adult heroism and action like authors such as the likes of James Patterson (Maximum Ride series, Witch and Wizard, The Dangerous Days of Daniel X), D.J. MacHale (Pendragon: Journey of an Adventure through Time and Space), Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Kane Chronicles, The Heroes of Olympus) and his biggest inspiration C.S Lewis (The Chronicles of Narnia). Michael lives with his wife Jean and three children Evangeline Nicole, Michael IV and Abigail Rosalee-Ashoka, in Reno, NV where he works for a living until he can work full time on his writing while he chronicles the life of Dilworth Alexander Coup in his free time.
