Overview

When a research vessel sights a strange, derelict ship in an anomalous system the Kimerian Emperor chooses to keep the find under wraps until he finds out exactly what they are dealing with. Did the ship belong to a different branch of human civilization, or had they finally found the dreaded aliens? The derelict ship looks to have been shot up, but if so, by whom? Not only that, but the ship appeared to have writing on its hull that, while indistinct, the best guess their linguists could come up with was the characters could be from the Latin alphabet, maybe? At least he had just the right person to send to investigate along with her fiancé and his shipload of interesting individuals. It was a risk sending his daughter, but he had a level of confidence in Gizel that he didn't have in anyone else.
