Overview

"The Praying Child/Let us Communicate The foundation of our relationship with God begins with prayer (the sinner's prayer Romans 10:8-10), is strengthened by prayer, is demonstrated in prayer, touches the lives of others through prayer, one of the ways you will be led by the Holy Spirit is in prayer. The key to any relationship is COMMUNICATION. Prayer is communication with God. The only place the word prayer is used is in communication with God. We are instructed to cast (give) our cares (daily concerns) to God in 1 Peter 5:7, that happens in prayer. Jesus instructed His disciples to go ""make"" disciples (Matthew 28:18-20). The disciples only asked Jesus ONE thing, ""teach us how to pray"". They witnessed Jesus go pray and come back and serve people with the power of God. They knew in order to fulfill Jesus' expectations for them they needed the same power. Our children today are searching for the same power. It cannot happen without developing their relationship with God through prayer. The just shall live by faith (Romans 1:17), faith is developed in prayer by hearing the Holy Spirit, and through answered prayer. We believe that by teaching children to pray creates the connection with God that can never be destroyed by the world, the flesh, nor the devil. PRAYER is the key to all that GOD wants to do in and through you, including His fulfilled Purpose. The investment of prayer never stops paying dividends. It's our pleasure to help you live for HIM!"

Prayer is talking to God and listening to Him - a conversation unlike any other. How amazing is it that the God who rules the universe wants to talk with me! The importance of this conversation daily and frequently ( ...pray continually, 1 Thessalonians 5:17) has many benefits. Among them are: 1) we are reminded who God is and who we are; 2) we allow ourselves to be dependent on Him for our needs; 3) we maintain a grateful posture for our blessings, and 4) we can share with Him our concerns in confidence that He hears and cares ( ...you are familiar with all of my ways, Psalm 139:3). I can't imagine living life without being connected to God through prayer. I am grateful for how prayer has impacted my daily life and decisions as a Christian husband, father, and leader. I commend Norman and Shelley for writing this book to inspire children to develop their relationship with God through prayer. John Bryant, CEO Christ's Home for Children Warminster PA
