Author Information

Dr. John Mattingly, reflecting on 34 years as an orthodontist in Louisville, Kentucky, discusses his 10 Keys that determine the success of a professional practice. Now retired, he expresses concern about how insensitive attitudes and lack of two-way respect have crept into too many professional practices. His gradual realization of the benefits of conducting a practice based on integrity, teamwork, and respect for others has prompted this effort to share his experience with other professionals. His education includes both the University of Louisville and Northwestern University Schools of Dentistry. He has served in many leadership positions in both organized dentistry and orthodontics including local, state and regional offices.
