As I read this book, it became evident that the author found herself in God's laboratory of teaching her the true meaning of intercessory prayer. Each chapter creates a desire to know what will be the outcome of this mother-daughter experience. As a pastor with over 30 years of pastoral ministry, I can truly say that The Power of a Mother's Prayer rates near the top from a lay member. The book is a very practical book on how one should thirst after God's presence and guidance through the challenges of life. I believe because the book is a play by play experience of how a mother sought God's guidance on saving her daughter, one can gather the practical tools needed to tackle any challenge one may face. As a mother fought to save her only child, she discovered her God given gift of intercessory prayer. The book also offers practical models to expand prayer ministries. Phillippa Turner shows us how she prays and through her experience helps us understand the how to of intercessory prayer. This book inspired me to revisit intercessory prayer and also provided a guide to start a sustainable prayer ministry. The one practical aspect that gripped my attention was the chapter on The Family Power-Packed Prayer Line. This chapter is God in action as a result of intercessory prayer. All I can say, is Wow! This is a must read for anyone seeking to understand the deeper things of how God never leaves you or forsakes you! --Dr. Donald L.
