OverviewWhile Dylan is not new as an academic subject, this collection’s focus (on live performance) provides a new window or way to gaze and understand Dylan and his place in our culture. One critical strength is its interdisciplinarity. Looking through several disciplines, bumping against them, and pushing them, gives a multi-functional lens to view Dylan the performer. The contributors represent diverse voices in the next generation of Dylan scholars. This collection fills a void in Dylan Studies by adding a new dimension to the literature of Dylan’s work through his curation of setlists. These essays underscore the continued importance of deep, scholarly examinations of Dylan’s career beyond biography and musicology. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Erin C.
