ABOUT THE AUTHOR DOUGLAS T. STUART holds the J. William and Helen D. Stuart Chair in International Studies at Dickinson College. He is also an adjunct research professor at the U.S. Army War College. He is the author or editor of 11 books, 4 monographs, and over 30 published articles dealing with international affairs. His areas of research specialization include U.S. national security policymaking, U.S. security issues in the Indo-Asia-Pacific (IAP), and U.S. civil-military relations. He is the director of an ongoing project on Civilian-Military Educational Cooperation, sponsored by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Dr. Stuart received his Ph.D. in international relations from the University of Southern California in 1979.
