The Pig Who Grew Too Big

Overview

Explore the joy and BIG responsibility of having a pet in this charming story that celebrates love, family, and growing up! After years of asking for a pet, Ella's wish is finally granted on her seventh birthday. It takes her a while to decide which pet to get, but she finally finds the perfect one: a mini pig named Bert. They have so much fun together, from having tea parties and movie nights to building forts. However, Bert quickly grows much bigger than expected, and Ella realizes that just like children, pets grow too. When Bert can no longer fit in his bed, sit in his chair, or play in their fort, Ella is upset and wishes he could have stayed 3ny forever. In this humorous and heartwarming story, readers will learn that having a pet is a big responsibility and that caring for one can be a challenging yet rewarding experience. With its soft watercolor illustrations and delightful characters, The Pig Who Grew Too Big encourages readers to embrace the magic of growing up. Responsibility: Ella learns that taking care of Bert requires a lot of time and attention, especially as he grows so big! Readers will learn the value of taking care of their own pets, and this is the perfect story for first-time pet owners. Encourage Problem-Solving: As Bert grows (and grows and grows!), Ella and her mom work together to find creative solutions to make sure he feels comfortable and loved. Adapting to Change: The story emphasizes that pets, just like children, grow up over time. As Ella watches Bert grow from a pint-size mini pig to a fully grown adult, and her disappointment turns into unconditional love, readers will learn the importance of adjusting to new changes with a positive attitude.
