Author Information

Joseph Selbie makes the complex and obscure, simple and clear. A dedicated meditator for over forty years, he has taught yoga and meditation throughout the United States and Europe. He is known for creating bridges of understanding between the modern evidenced-based discoveries of science and the ancient experience-based discoveries of the mystics. Joseph maintains several blogs, including Intersections, which explores how spirituality connects with culture and science. He also authored The Yugas, a factual look at India's tradition of cyclical history; and a sci-fi/fantasy series, the Protectors Diaries, inspired by the abilities of mystics. Joseph is a founding member of Ananda, a meditation-based community and spiritual movement inspired by Paramahansa Yogananda. He lives with his wife at Ananda Village near Nevada City, California. Amit Goswami, PhD, is the author of several popular books based on his research on quantum physics and consciousness, including The Self-Aware Universe. He is best known for his appearance as one of the interviewed scientists featured in the 2004 film What the Bleep Do We Know!?. Sean Runnette, a multiple AudioFile Earphones Award winner, has produced several Audie Award-winning audiobooks and has also narrated works by John Steinbeck and Richard P. Feynman. Of his performance of The Courage to be Free, AudioFile Magazine wrote Runnette's tender approach to every sentence and paragraph helps the author's wisdom glow. Along with the understated power of the author's writing, Runnette's performance makes this one of the most arresting and thought-provoking audiobooks available today. He is a member of the American Repertory Theater company and has toured internationally with Mabou Mines, an avant-garde theater company. Sean's television and film appearances include Two If by Sea, Copland, Sex and the City, Law & Order, Third Watch.
