Overview

The Perfect Pandemic is a collaborative scientific report that explains how an ancient brain disease evolved into a global pandemic. Largely ignored until now, the disorder causing this pandemic is dopamine addiction - an affliction suffered by more than 99% of the world's population. Dopamine addiction is responsible for every man-made problem that is mistakenly attributed to greed, lust, sin, evil, neuroses, and other labels that describe, but fail to explain, irrational and inhumane behavior. Dr. Erich Hawke, the neuroscientist who discovered this brain disease, called dopamine addiction the perfect pandemic after diagnosing three key symptoms exhibited by addicts: a strong aversion to understanding the disease; excessive self-deception; and dogged denial in the face of reality. Hawke concluded that this lethal combination has protected the disease from being exposed. Until now. Early-stage dopamine sufferers unknowingly protect the disease by refusing to consider the existence of a universal brain disorder. It's hard to blame them; they are, after all, afflicted with a debilitating malady. Late-stage dopamine addicts, however, are more worthy of condemnation, as this group aggressively protects the disease by attacking, by any means necessary, those who object to their dopamine-fueled behavior. Why is this pandemic perfect? Because divergent groups, who otherwise dislike, distrust, and oppose one another, have united to protect this disease which is destroying our species. Antidotes for dopamine addiction are eschewed by conglomerations of addicts who don't realize they're conspiring with allies and enemies alike to ensure that no one learns that they don't want to be cured. No pandemic in history has so manipulated victims into wasting time trying to disprove readily available (yet inconvenient) information that might prove that they are suffering. Entertaining the psychologically and scientifically sound tenets that comprise The Perfect Pandemic is a first step toward recovery; only by scrutinizing apparent (yet often ignored) aspects of human behavior can one begin to understand the intoxicating influence of dopamine.
