Reviews

If I had to be abandoned on a desert island with an actor, I can think of no better co-castaway than Ed. His book is tremendous - particularly when he writes about the early days of punk. He was there, man! He lived it, and his storytelling is vivid and exciting -- Alex Cox Always one of the most original voices to come out of the whole punk maelstrom, chivalric Ted Ed Tudor-Pole's memoirs are a feast for lovers of London and all its multiple musical flowerings. This is an account of a rake's progress through London's low- to highlife to match Quentin Crisp's The Naked Civil Servant or Frank Norman's The Guntz. Fellow outsider Ed possesses original wit and intuitive insight... enthralling -- Cathi Unsworth, author of Season of the Witch: The Book of Goth and co-author of Defying Gravity: Jordan's Story

Author Information

Edward Tudor Pole has been playing guitar since he was ten. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art he joined the Sex Pistols, contributing a song before writing hits for Tenpole Tudor and becoming a pop star in the 80s. After the horrific implosion of the group, Tudor Pole was enticed into the acting world and appeared in many films including with Clint Eastwood and in three West End shows including opposite Rex Harrison. On TV in the 90s, Tudor Pole presented The Crystal Maze. Finding the life of an actor ever more intolerable, Tudor Pole made a decision, and in 2004 became a full time professional singer and guitarist who has been touring ever since.
