Table of ContentsReviewsAPF IF Award for the Most Significant Futures Work: Inspirational - engenders an ethical imagination, radical optimism, and/or hope Quotes from Judges ""I find this work extraordinary! Educating the next generation to be more inclusive, kinder, gentler, creative, and futures literate. The kind of work that can transform the worldview of an entire generation has the potential for great things. I love the emphasis on making, materializing the futures is the most important part of futures work today!"" ""I believe this work sets a new standard for foresight work, a sort of Bechdel test for foresight work/storytelling. The fact that it is a book that is accessible for children and not locked away behind an academic paywall creates the possibility for the next generation to have better myths upon which to create the futures."" ""In a world that is still reliant on an educational system from over 100 years ago that creates the mechanistic and linear thinking that plagues our organizations and systems. This work feels refreshing and rejuvenating because it increases futures literacy from an early age and in a way that promotes a gentler society."" ""I would love to see this level of myth connected to some of the on-going futures work being done. The story-telling is incredible and we so desperately need a hero model for doing foresight work. This would be a great ""add"" to how to communicate research findings."" ""One of the areas that futurists often fail in is communication. This is an example of how to do communication very well. It would be especially useful to communicate with younger students."" ""It brings an awareness to the futures as an area and invites the reader into thinking about the future."" ""This level of myth connected to some of the on-going futures, communication done well"" ""In a world that is significantly more male dominated this work comes to balance the scales. The Heroines Journey is a much-needed narrative at this time and delivering in such an accessible and inclusive way makes the potential for impact so much greater by inspiring children and adults alike. A shift in worldview at scale feels very promising and worthy of mention."" ""Storytelling is such a powerful method that foresight uses it to deliver a lot of the work that we do. This new way of telling stories that is more constructive seems to be invaluable in this day and age. The shift in worldview that creates a path for women to be the heroine of the story has immense potential to me."" ""I appreciate and admire the inspiration and storytelling methods to enhance, inspire and influence futures thinking"" ""Adding this level of visual story-telling to a substantial piece of researched work [is] an incredible product."" ""... I very much appreciate the accessibility of the work. I think the entire world needs this right now.""
