Ackerman III, M.D., is a fellowship trained, American Board of Anesthesiology board certified anesthesiologist with American Board of Anesthesiology board certification in Pain Medicine. He has over 18 years of experience in pain medicine including research and teaching. He is a graduate of the University of Lou-isville School of Medicine and did his residency at the University of Kentucky and a pain medicine fellowship at the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Dr. Ackerman has an extensive academic career. Dr. Ackerman has been and still is involved in medical research and he has presented the results of his scientific research at international and national scientific meetings. Dr. Ackerman has been Medical Director of the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences pain medicine department and has been Medical Director of Pain Medicine at the Central Baptist Hospital Neurosciences Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. Ackerman has published over one hundred peer reviewed scientific articles and has published numerous book chapters in medical textbooks. He books include: 1. OBSTETRIC ANESTHESIA PEARLS, 2.
