Overview

Journalist Denny Durant is enjoying the company of friends on Christmas Eve at his local, the Gargoyle, when in walks Mad Mike McPhee. Denny hasn't seen the elite infantry officer since they parted ways six years earlier in Afghanistan, and it's clear Mad Mike is now struggling. Over a few pints, McPhee spins his tale. Little does Denny know, he's just been recruited to McPhee's new mission. Will Denny have the fortitude to stick with the story until the end, or will he back off when the lines between sanity and insanity, friendship and enmity blur, especially as McPhee's mission threatens to turn Johanna, Denny's new lover, into collateral damage.
