This rhyming story follows Alayna, a brave little girl with a red patch on her cheek that just won't go away. The book gently introduces TSW (Topical Steroid Withdrawal) - a tough and often overlooked condition that doesn't get much attention, especially in children's stories. What a beautiful story. I felt every emotion reading it and the pure joy of happiness at the end when she defeats her condition is just uplifting! My children loved the rhymes! I have bought one for my school library too as so many children suffer with skin conditions where I work and this book will give some hope to those families too. This book is truly something special. I bought it for my child, who has been struggling with eczema, and we both connected with the story right away. The rhyming style makes it really fun to read aloud, and the message is so powerful. The illustrations are very well done so it can appeal to younger kids too. I wish this book had existed sooner! Every parent dealing with eczema, TSW, or similar conditions should have this on their shelf. Highly recommend! Such a sweet and emotional story about a 3 year old girl with eczema and her journey to getting better. I read it to my 3 year old grandson who loved the story and pointed out the expressions on the faces of the characters. He asked me questions and commented that her Mummy and Daddy loved her so much and wanted to help her. He asked me to read it again and again and was so happy when little Alayna could sleep well in her bed. Based on a true story, this is a very special book. Loved this book so much! Thank you for letting kids be their own little hero in this book while they wait for their bodies to heal themselves. Definitely recommend to parents with a child with eczema or TSW or both. It was fun for my daughter to see that's she's not alone and her struggles are real. Glad it has a happy ending of healing....
