Overview

This dictionary consists of parallel Japanese and English word-lists containing in all some 28,000 items from each language. The words are linked by number to the 384 picture sections, and divided subject by subject to cover typical situations in domestic and everyday life, recreation and sport, flora and fauna, industry, the arts and technology. Differences between British and American English are also recorded. The indexes refer the reader to the various subjects and contexts in which a word is used and this provides not only a guide to the correct translation but also a key to the vocabulary of an entire subject. This will be a useful supplement not only for students, but also for businessmen and translators who work with Japanese commercial concerns.
