Author Information

Maggie Lykens grew up in Upstate New York surrounded by the rolling hills, falls, lakes, streams and wooded country sides. She began writing poetry as a young girl around 11 years old. Her father had purchased a guitar and she soon took an interest. She enjoyed learning to play and began writing songs. Maggie loves living in the county surrounded by rural farms and horses, which she has great admiration for. She thrives on the fresh air and nonconfining sceneries. She has fond memories of her childhood, due to her parents' love and affection towards one another, her twin and two older sisters, as well as aunts and uncles who always brought many fun stories and family tales to the kitchen table. Her home was filled with much laughter. She loves telling stories in a poetic format and has continued to add to her collection over the years. She writes Christian songs and is thankful for all the blessings God has brought her way. She has experienced many struggles; however, music and poetry have been her lifeline, second to God. Besides Joseph, she has a grown daughter, whom she also adores, and a grandson who is her pride and joy.
