Author Information

Manny is a yogi, spiritual teacher, and author. He was born in Cuba, lived in Madrid as a young boy and arrived in the USA at the age of eight. Manny is the father of three sons and a grandfather. An entrepreneur his entire professional life, he founded and served as president of three corporations. He was also the founder and vice chairman of the board of the first public Montessori Charter School in Massachusetts. Manny holds a BS in Pharmacology and an MBA. He received his higher education in Boston. In his early 30's, Manny had a profound spiritual awakening which completely changed his life. He began his devotional meditation practice in 1995 as a way to understand his awakening and to balance his life. He began his study of yoga in 1998. His teaching style blends the study and practice of many spiritual pursuits. This diverse background gives him a keen awareness of the many available paths which lead to self-realization. Manny is the owner and Spiritual Director of the Yoga Center of Newburyport, is a certified practitioner of Thai Yoga Bodywork, Reiki I and II and is an Anusara-Inspired(TM) Yoga teacher. He has been a full time spiritual teacher and practitioner since his mid thirties. His teachings come from an authentic place of direct experience. Manny resides with his partner, Alise Ashby, a British composer, songwriter and producer. They are twin-flames united in love and the desire to bring more light and joy into our world.
