Reviews

This work provides a carefully researched study of an important but neglected aspect of Churchill's career. By focusing on Churchill's roles as party leader, the author has produced a useful book for those with interests in political parties as well as students of Churchill's unique leadership skills. (William W. Lammers, University of Southern California) Dr. Mayer examines a heretofore neglected aspect of Churchill's postwar political experience and brings fresh insights into his role in the recovery of the Conservative party from its 1945 electoral debacle. (John R. Hubbard, President Emeritus University of Southern California)
