She has worked with children and families across the spectrum of Jewish observance in multiple states, in different settings and in several capacities. This is Ketzi's first book. She wanted to create a story that could be a resource for Jewish families and teachers, and also be interesting and engaging for non Jewish readers. Ketzi is a story teller by nature. She believes that cultures are defined and enriched by the stories they tell. Now retired, Ketzi has a degree in Occupational Therapy and was licensed in both Washington and Arizona, where she practice primarily in rehab settings. Ketzi loves to cook and bake, and has done her share of catering. She and her husband, Jim, currently live in Arizona. Elisa is an illustrator, art instructor, and commission watercolor artist based in Oregon. As a mom of three wonderful girls, she felt connected to both the characters and the message of inclusivity in The Onion Bird, her first children's book.
