Glenn Carley's published work includes Polenta at Midnight: Tales of Gusto and Enchantment in North York (Vehicule Press, 2008); short stories in Italian Canadians at Table (Guernica Editions, 2011; L.Gatto-White and D. De Santis, editors); Good Enough From Here (an arctic memoir, Rock's Mills Press, 2020); Il Vagabondo: An Urban Opera (Guernica, 2021); Jimmy Crack Corn: A Novel in C Minor (Rock's Mills Press, 2022); and children's books The Long Story of Mount Pester and The Long Story of Mount Pootzah (Rock's Mills Press, 2023; omnibus edition, 2024). A resident of Bolton, Ontario, Carley is retired from the position of chief social worker in a Toronto-area school board. He grandparents with his wife, Mary and together they grow. Adriana Carley is co-imagineer and the inspiration behind The One about Stella: A Little Fish, along with three more Stella-stories to follow. A resident of Bolton, Ontario, Adriana works for a local trucking company. Daughter and aunt, she is an avid outdoor enthusiast. Shelagh Armstrong, who created the cover image, has been illustrating for over forty years. In the last decade, she has shared her enthusiasm for painting by teaching part-time at Sheridan College. In 2023, she received a master's degree in illustration from Falmouth University in the United Kingdom. Shelagh strives to take on projects that resonate with her, like Glenn and Adriana Carley's series on Stella, intended for young visual learners. Armstrong shares her enthusiasm for book illustration with her life partner and award-winning designer Paul Hodgson, who happily supplies the final typographic touches (as he did with the cover for this book), making every project shine.
