Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationThe author, not having grown up around small children, was, until he serendipitously had a wonderful child of his own, nervous in their unpredictable presence. It is said that the child is the father of the man. In the author's case, truer words were never spoken. Love and fascination (and a wonderful wife) led to a Masters's degree in child development and a glimpse into the understanding of how the brains of children mature-how they learn in stages, how one step leads on to the next and what stimulation is age appropriate. The author, with his newfound credentials, taught English at the high school level, then worked as a social worker in a child protective service unit. Today, the author lives quietly in Virginia, restores antique furniture, and carefully listens to what the children in his life have to say. Laura Lavender is a renowned calligrapher, bestselling author, illustrator, and Craftsy Instructor from Vancouver Island, Canada. Professionally trained and with a BA in fine Arts, Laura has worked as a calligraphy scribe, illustrator, and designer since 2008. In that time, She has designed for greeting card companies, big brands, lettered for book publishers and fashion designers.... and lots of interesting people having parties! She is the author of ""Timeless Calligraphy"" and co-author of the best selling book ""Creative Lettering & Beyond,"" published by Walter Foster.
