Overview

The Old and New Legends of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina -Tales of the South Strand is a written account of not only the old legends of the Murrells Inlet coast but includes updated versions of the ghost stories of our area. Christine Vernon interviews both locals and visitors about our region and who have experienced our local haunted tales for themselves. Alice Belin Flagg, The Grey Man, and other legends are investigated. Do these spirits still haunt our land?

Author Information

Christine (Wannop) Vernon grew up in a suburb of Phila, PA. She spent many years studying both fine arts as well as live theater. She moved to South Carolina in 2005 and began investigating the history and legends of the South Strand. She currently sells her original artwork at her home studio and lectures at museums, universities, and local venues. She owns/operates Miss Chris' Inlet Walking Tour-a local ghost and history tour on the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk.
