She completed a PhD in 2009 from the University of Canterbury on responses to trauma in contemporary literature. More recently she has edited two books on contemporary art and has recently finished a history of Trade Aid, New Zealand's only homegrown fair trade organization and a member of the World Fair Trade Organization.
