The Nickel Loop

Overview

They say love conquers all, but can it conquer time? Emmeline, a driven young woman, has withdrawn from friends and family since her adored father died suddenly. Traveling by train to visit her sister in a small Colorado town, she steps from 2022 into 1938. When she meets kind, well-educated Nicholas, she recognizes his panic and disbelief. He just arrived from 1898. The two struggle to grasp their shattered reality but blending into 1938 draws them close and love sparks. When a psychic offers hope for returning to their own times, will they forfeit what could be? Nicholas is astonished by the advances 1938 offers but Emmeline knows the 1930s hold little opportunity for her as a woman. A discovery intensifies the pull back to her own time. Can her heart exist on two timelines? Have you ever wished for a second chance at love or wished you could go back and change that one thing? If you have, you will be unable to resist Nicholas and Emmeline's story of love and choice. Enjoy the Nickel Loop-a time travel romance with flavors of historical fiction.

Author Information

Nancy Houser-Bluhm hails from the Mitten State, aka Michigan. She considers herself a hybrid, having lived half of her life in Michigan and nearly half in Colorado. She enjoys all things nature whether it's the mountains, water, or forests. She loves spending time with her husband, extended family, friends, and pets. Colorado was the inspiration for both her novels. Seeing re-run of shows such as Land of the Giants and reading the children's book series, Half Magic fed an early interest in time travel and magical realism. With her return to Michigan, she's excited to soak up new inspiration while exploring trails, local farms, breweries, and wineries. Nancy has written her entire life. She wrote her first newsy letter in second grade when a friend moved to another town and has been writing ever since. Nancy dabbles in poetry. She is a lifelong journaler even though inadequate time is devoted to it as of late. Nancy has written opinion pieces, vignettes, and blogs about this and that, which is why her blog is named Minderings, a place for the wanderings of your mind. Numerous articles have appeared in local newspapers.Authentic communication with herself and others continues to be a life quest and she believes our gift of communication is meant to build bridges, spread joy and belief in those around us.
