At the same time, he was a thinker of profound knowledge and understanding. Every time he picked up his pen, his writings started to live their own life. They have inspired the reader ever since, even after the death of the author. Now, ""The New Testa-ment Devotional Commentary"" can be read in English. The exceptional character of the whole series proves that Bo Giertz was a man with a mission. He was sent by God to speak to you.Reverend Timo Laato, Dr. Theol. and Master of Arts Like the first two volumes this final volume reflects Giertz's commitment to the Scriptures as the Word of God and it radiates the warmth of evangelical faith. This volume like the previous two lends itself well for use in personal and group Bible study. John T. Pless, Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, IN The volume completes Bror Erickson's splendid offering of access to the witness of Swedish bishop Bo Giertz....Volume 3 of the New Testament Devotional Commentary is the culmination of a short course for pastors in how to preach and for lay people in what to look for in a sermon. For Giertz, Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, that is, he remains crucified and risen Lord ""for you,"" the center of all things. This is preaching we need today. Ken Sundet Jones, Professor of Theology and Philosophy, Grand View University" Author InformationBo Giertz (1905-1998) spent his youth as a militant atheist before his conversion in college set him to become an apologist for the Christian faith, a beloved novelist, pastor and bishop in the church of Sweden. These commentaries were written in retirement after a long life carefully studying both the scriptures and the human soul. Bror Erickson currently serves as pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in Farmington New Mexico where he lives with his wife, Laura. He graduated from Concordia University, Irvine, in 2000 where he studied apologetics under Dr. Rod Rosenbladt. Subsequently, he attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne Indiana, and graduated in 2004. He has translated many works by Bo Giertz, but he also enjoys hunting upland game and ducks with his dog, Grinner.
