Overview

In the domed city of Kronos, the unquiet Quicken first. Or so the authorities claim, after the Quickening's spontaneous mutation rocks the city, turning some of its youth-already maligned for their body modifications and sexual freedom-into Flesh Eaters or Healers. But now dawns the deceptive freedom of Era-2, and the formerly incarcerated Quickened are eager to join parties and protests, revelries and revolutions. Nora is an unregistered Eater who inadvertently killed her queerplatonic partner Eden when she monstered, while her sister Evi took the fall for her. Except Evi lied: Eden is alive, a Healer caught in the espionage plot led by rich, mysterious benefactor March.
