His research on the psychology of gambling combines multiple methods including behavioural analysis, brain imaging, and psychophysiology. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers. He is Senior Editor at Addiction, and Regional Assistant Editor for International Gambling Studies. Anna E. Goudriaan is full Professor in Addiction: Mechanisms and Treatment at Arkin Mental Health Care and the Department of Psychiatry, Amsterdam University Medical Center, University of Amsterdam. She is a neuropsychologist and mental health psychologist with a combined research and clinical appointment. Her research focuses on the study of neurobiological mechanisms and innovative (neuromodulation) interventions in addictive disorders and dual diagnosis, including gambling disorder, alcohol use disorders and other substance use disorders (cannabis and cocaine).
