Her character development is amazing! You feel like you are there in the story and that you actually could be friends, or enemies, with the characters. I have read many of Kathy's books and am amazed at the level of research she does for each book. She also provides guidance on how to begin capturing and publishing your own family genealogy. A great way to begin the New Year. CM A Striking Tale in Historical Context Not to be Missed: The author has created an important story of family and history! I have purchased and read several of Kathy Marshall's books, The ancestors are smiling, Finding Otho as Well as Finding Daisy: from the deep south to the promised land and I thought Finding Daisy was by far her best. The Mystery of Margaret Booker surpassed my expectations. The illustrative writing pulls you into the story and you cannot put this book down. Her stories are remarkable and historically accurate told from and in her ancestor's voice; Children, there are often two sides to every story depending on who is telling it"". Robin Harris. Margaret Booker Asserts Her Birthright in Truth! Falling in love with Margaret Booker the very first time I heard her exclaim, ""Once upon a time in Ol' Viginny! You feel her presence while she recited the history of her lineage. In true Griot fashion, Margaret lulls her listeners into those memorable times in her life that many can relate to. The author gives us ironclad research methodology within the writing also, especially when geographical markers roads and bridges are mentioned. There's a point in this work where I'm excited to read a Civil War, ""Gone With the Wind"" type of account from a matriarchal elder. Excellent book! Tanisha LaShawn."
