OverviewMost of us secretly want to be a star. We dream of fame, fortune, and the blossoming of our individual talents. We want our name in lights. What happens when the dream slips away? The premise of Marilyn Mattie Brahen's Muted Images is that four young men, who formed a rock group and hoped to become another Beatles or Rolling Stones, didn't. The dream faded. Their lives went on. One of them even became celebrated classical guitarist, but that echo of that original fellowship resonated through their later lives in sometimes surprising ways. It ends with a deeply moving reconciliation between the most successful and the least of the original four. A memorable tale of what might have been.
