In this work, published in an English translation from the original Italian made by a Sister of the Institute of Charity in 1890, Don Caspar Galli's aim is to present a resume of the doctrine of St. Francis of Sales upon the prerogatives and virtues of Mary, the august Queen of Heaven, and 'gather a delicious bouquet for her month of May', the month in which the Catholic Church honours her. The book includes Thirty-one Considerations with examples and specific prayers for each day of the month. Francis de Sales (1567-1622) was a Bishop of Geneva and is honoured as a saint in the Catholic Church. He became noted for his deep faith and his gentle approach to the religious divisions resulting from the Protestant Reformation. He is also known for his writings on the topic of spiritual direction.
