Author Information

Mary Ellen Aschenbrenner, author, speaker, columnist, and award-winning feature writer has been published throughout the Midwest and in New York. Known as Joliet's Erma Bombeck, she departs from her humor forte' in The Monster Within to share the gut-wrenching story of her family's encounter with brain cancer and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She offers new insights into treatment and possible cures. Published first, at 14, she has written and co-written hundreds of articles for newspapers and periodicals. Four books are to her credit since 2009. She tells all ... personal and professional. In novels to come, she divulges coercions and threats. She exposes criminal intent. She's told, if she doesn't shut her mouth, she'll be murdered and raped-in that order. In presentations, she motivates audiences to face life straight on, smile amid adversities, and trust in a Higher Power. Her mission is to put joyful beams on depressed faces, foster hope in those who have lost courage, and not to die with stories still in her.
