Reviews

Tim Isbell is one of Mississippi's finest visual storytellers. From the quiet of a gull at sunrise to the chaos of Mother Nature's wrath during a storm, Tim's photos capture the beauty and resilience of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and her people. For years, his photos would pop up in my Facebook feed and I'd hope they'd be in a book. My wish has finally been granted. --Marshall Ramsey Tim Isbell's photographs are a love letter to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Every frame meticulously details her charms, from the curving outstretched branches of her live oaks to her luminous sunrises and the gracious lines of her stately antebellum homes. In words too, Isbell shares his favorite stories of the place he cherishes. This book will draw new admirers and remind those of us fortunate to grow up there why the Coast will always draw us back into her embrace. --Kathleen Koch, former longtime CNN correspondent and author of Rising from Katrina: How My Mississippi Hometown Lost It All and Found What Mattered
