Author Information

Art Giberson, a retired Navy Chief Photographer's Mate made two combat deployments aboard the USS Oriskany-1969-1970-as OP Division Leading Chief/Division Officer. In addition to The Mighty O he is the author of four other non-fiction books: WALL SOUTH, a pictorial history of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Pensacola, Florida; THE BLUE GHOST: The Ship That Couldn't Be Sunk; EYES of the FLEET: A History of Naval Photography; Century of War, War Stories; The Crazy Ones Shot Film and three novels, PHOTOJOURNALIST: The Story of a Navy Combat Photographer; Anything but the Truth; Brinkmanship: Standoff in the Caribbean. The author is a member of the USS Oriskany Association, International Combat Camera Association and the National Association of Naval Photography.
