OverviewThe Middle of Things - Old Fashioned Mysteries and Fletcher's Exceptional Storytelling Those who are familiar with J.S. Fletcher's writing style know that he is exceptionally capable when it comes to presenting an exciting murder mystery. Author of more than 200 books, Fletcher excels once more through the remarkable classic novel known as The Middle of Things - a tale of an unusual murder shrouded in secrecy. The plot tells of a wealthy man known as Ashton killed under strange circumstances, whose past no one knows much about. At first, the authorities believe that the murder is simply the result of a petty thief trying to gain access to the rich man's jewelry. The plot quickly thickens, however, and despite the fact that there are very few leads to go on, a shocking twist reveals that the true motives and links attributed to the murder may go further than anyone could have anticipated. As usual, Fletcher is capable of keeping the reader interested and making the plot extremely intense and exciting through complex plot twists, misleading clues and mistaken identities. What will first seem like nothing more than a straightforward murder quickly develops into stranger possibilities than we may have imagined, and shows that nothing is really what it seems at first. One of the greatest assets of this story is that everything, from the plot and descriptions to the various psychological dimensions of the characters - who are more or less common citizens - all have quite a lot of depth that only becomes apparent after a more careful examination of the facts and clues involved in the murder mystery. The Middle of Things is essentially the perfect old-fashioned murder story, depicted majestically by an author in his prime. If you truly want to be entertained and surprised by an enjoyable read that will definitely not prove to be predictable, this is one book you should check out. Full Product DetailsAuthor: J. S.
