Reviews

Chapter one sets the scene, but as you read on you get to choose the path the story will follow. In each book, the story is enhanced with photos, illustrations, and historical facts. A fun, interactive way to make history come alive.-- ""Mt. Diablo Unified School District"" The freedom to choose your path in history awaits in this new series. Each book in the series begins with an introduction to the specific era. At the end of the first chapter readers are presented with three story paths. The story paths divide the era into even more specific time periods. For example, you may choose to fight battles as a knight in the 1100s, explore life in a royal castle in the 1200s, or experience the terror of the Black Plague in the 1300s. Each story path immerses the reader in the time period and provides a variety of choices to make that personalize the experience. At the end of each path you may choose to return to follow another path or read the conclusion. The final chapter provides a concise overview of the era. The books are aesthetically pleasing with lightly tinted pages and a variety of interesting photos throughout. This series will support your history curriculum and be a wonderful asset for reluctant readers. Bibliography. Glossary. Timeline. Websites. Index. Recommended.-- ""Library Media Connection"" This book is a great educational tool for students. They get to look at the middle ages through the eyes of a priest, a kinight, or a peasant based on their choices. Then their choices down the road determine their fates. The book does a great job of making the middle ages interesting and fun!-- ""Association of Reg. XI School Librarians""
