THE MELORISTS OF BLACKTHORN ACADEMY is a fast, exciting young adult story about a school that controls everything. Lyra Neptune goes to Blackthorn Academy, where every student must wear a wristband. The school says the wristbands are for safety, but they are really for watching and controlling students. The school posts strict rules on the walls, like NO WHISPERS and NO CONTACT. If you break the rules, you get punished. Lyra tries to stay quiet and invisible so she can survive. But one day the screens change, and the school puts Lyra's name on them and says she did something wrong, even though she didn't. After that, Lyra becomes a target. Hall monitors follow her. SAFE hounds patrol the halls. Doors lock, and the school goes into lockdown. Students are also pressured to confess and give other students' names to earn protection credits. That makes kids scared, and it makes friends turn on each other. Lyra refuses to give up. With Cassian Rockford, Zara, and Ellis, Lyra sneaks through hidden hallways to find the Heart Node, the secret control center that runs the school. If they can reach it, they might be able to get proof out fast and stop Blackthorn from changing the story. Because at Blackthorn Academy, KINDNESS IS CONTRABAND. USE IT AS A WEAPON.
