Reviews

Melodie enthusiasts ... will find the volume beneficial in their study of the songs of Poulenc. The IPA transcriptions are a convenient reference, and it is admirable that the authors recognize the authoritative advice for performance practice offered by Bernac, as well as the impor--tance of his directions in regard to liaisons and elisions...[I]t is a laudable book that contains the most comprehensive collection of transcriptions to date. For those who sing and study the melodies of Poulenc, it is a welcome addition to the literature. Journal of Singing
