Thomas Ousterhout has a degree in psychology from Loyola Marymount University. Through his professional psychology career he has given several presentations to university sponsored research symposiums where Ph.D.s, professors, professionals, and other experts engaged in impressive and interactive question and answer sessions. The success of these presentations gathered significant positive attention which provided him with an invitation to give a presentation to the Association of Computing Machinery, which is the largest computing society in the world. Afterwards he was cordially invited to join the society and has since joined almost twenty other scientific and technological societies related to virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and autonomous vehicles. Not only has Mr. Ousterhout been a contributing member of these societies, but he also has readily available access to an abundance of information through attending local, national, and international meetings and conferences.
