Author Information

Ben Jervis is Reader in archaeology at Cardiff University, specialising in the medieval period. He researches the everyday lives of medieval people, through integrating archaeological and historical evidence and innovative theoretical perspectives. He is the author of Pottery and Social Life in Medieval England and Assemblage Thought and Archaeology. ORCiD: 0000-0001-5295-0647 Chris Briggs is Associate Professor in Medieval British Social and Economic History at Cambridge and was the Principal Investigator of the Living Standards and Material Culture project. He researches the intersection of society, economy and law in the later Middle Ages, with a particular focus on credit and changes in living standards. Alice Forward was a research associate on the Living Standards and Material Culture project where she collated and analysed the archaeological dataset. She is a specialist in the medieval and post-medieval material culture of western Britain, having undertaken her doctoral research on the pottery from Cosmeston, Glamorgan.
